Our Logo
The ‘N’ in our logo is derived from an experimental vibration result, depicting the intermittent snap-through motion of a curved plate. The y-axis represents vibration amplitude, while the x-axis shows the time history. When subjected to a sufficient external force, the plate ‘snaps through’ from its initial equilibrium position to another, oscillating between these states. Dr. C. F. Ng was a pioneer in identifying this phenomenon in 1987 and has since been investigating its application for reducing floating slab vibration and for energy harvesting.
