Our Logo
The character N in the logo is an experimental vibration result of intermittent snap-through motion for a curved plate. The y-axis is the vibration amplitude and the x-axis is the time history. When the external force is large enough, the plate moves from the initial equilibrium position to another equilibrium position. The plate oscillates around equilibrium positions. This is the phenomena of intermittent snap-through motion. Dr. C. F. Ng is a pioneer to identify this phenomenon in 1987. He has been investigating the application of this phenomenon to reduce the vibration of floating slab and energy harvesting.
